TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS FOR ENHANCING PRODUCTIVITY OF CARGO HANDLING OPERATIONS AT LNG TERMINALS IN MARITIME PORTS
Abstract
The article presents a study that includes an analysis of technological solutions, their advantages, and limitations in their implementation at terminals, as well as the development of an algorithm to enhance the productivity of cargo operations involving liquefied natural gas (LNG). The author conducted research on various technologies that can be implemented at LNG terminals to optimize cargo operations, including modern automated systems, robotics, innovative unloading methods, and organizational approaches. Factors influencing the success of their implementation were also analyzed. The author identified anticipated technical and financial challenges that may arise during the adoption of new technologies at LNG terminals. With the aim of achieving the set goal, the author devised an algorithm for implementing technological solutions to increase productivity in cargo operations involving liquefied gas at a maritime port. The algorithm comprises sequential steps and stages that will help ensure the efficient implementation of new technologies at the terminal. The conducted research identified key indicators affecting the productivity of cargo operations at LNG terminals in maritime ports. The author examines the impact of technological solutions on various aspects of terminal operations, such as unloading speed, safety, and costs, among others. To confirm the hypothesis regarding the effectiveness of implementing technological solutions to enhance the productivity of cargo handling operations at an LNG terminal in a maritime port, a comparison was made between traditional and innovative scenarios for unloading containers using automated systems. Based on the research results, the efficiency of implementing technological innovations was established, leading to a significant increase in the productivity of container unloading operations involving liquefied gas. In summary, this study provides crucial information about technological solutions to enhance the productivity of cargo operations at LNG terminals in maritime ports. The implementation of automated systems and innovative unloading methods enables efficient and safe handling of liquefied gas, which is critical to ensuring the effective operation of maritime ports and maintaining a stable supply of LNG.
